Spice Girls Kicked Off World Tour Concert

The Spice Girls kick off their reunion tour in Vancouver, British Columbia. It takes a special fan to stand outside GM Place in the snow for six hours just to get a glimpse of the Spice Girls. One with warm clothes and booties. Girl power, indeed!

They opened with their signature song, Spice Up Your Life, followed by Stop and Say You’ll Be There.



The five-member U.K. group, which has already sold 55 million records, sparkled in gold and bronze outfits(by Italian designer Roberto Cavalli) and had male dancers on their knees in dog collars during an almost two-hour show.

More than 16,000 screaming fans showed many were prepared to overlook criticism of the band for reuniting in their 30s. Ticket sales for the tour so far total more than $60 million. The reunion follows others by the Police, who raised more than $171 million and also started in Vancouver, the Eagles and the Who among others.



It was a giddy end to a giddy night.
